1. Who We Are
rest is a Las Vegas restaurant tracker published by wmkc, based in Israel, available at wmkc.net/rest.

2. Data We Collect
A. Without signing in
When you use rest without signing in, all data is stored locally in your browser's localStorage. Nothing leaves your device. This includes:
- Restaurants you have marked as visited or "want to go"
- Your personal star ratings for restaurants
- Your notes per restaurant
- Your active filter and sort preferences
wmkc cannot access, view, or retrieve any locally stored data. Clearing your browser storage or switching devices removes it permanently.
B. When you sign in with Google
If you choose to sign in with your Google account, the following data is processed:

Your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore under your Google UID. Each signed-in user can only access their own document — no other user or wmkc staff can read your data through the app.
C. What we do not collect
rest does not collect: precise location data (Near Me uses your device GPS locally and is never transmitted), browsing history, contact lists, payment information, or any data beyond what is listed above.
The site does not use analytics, tracking cookies, or any other tracking technologies. No usage data is collected from visitors.
3. How We Use Your Data

When you mark a restaurant as visited or want to go, or submit a star rating, that action is counted in aggregate community statistics that may be displayed to other signed-in users — for example, "14 people visited this restaurant" or "average rating 4.2 from 9 users". No individual user's data, identity, or notes are ever exposed. Only totals and averages are shown.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.

Firebase services may process data on Google servers in the United States. Google maintains appropriate international transfer safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses). See Firebase's privacy documentation for details.
5. Data Retention
- Local browser data: Stored in your browser until you clear it. wmkc has no access.
- Firestore cloud data: Retained until you request deletion. Signing out removes it from this device but keeps the cloud copy.
- Firebase Authentication: Your Google account association is retained until you request account deletion.
6. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, Israeli Privacy Protection Law, and other applicable laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data.
To delete your data: email privacy@wmkc.net from the address associated with your Google account and we will delete your Firestore document within 30 days.
To access your data: contact privacy@wmkc.net.
If you are in the EEA and believe your rights have been violated, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Israel, complaints can be filed with the Privacy Protection Authority (PPA).
7. Children
rest is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
8. Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
